By far, the best ending to a book I’ve ever read comes from The Last Battle by C.S. Lewis. The adventures had been taken, the story seemingly over, and Lewis writes, “now at last they were beginning Chapter One of the Great Story which no one on earth has read, which goes on for ever, in which every chapter is better than the one before.”
I remember reading this sentence and feeling the weight of gratefulness that these words in a fictional book could ring true in my own life. Because of Jesus, I have been invited into a glorious adventure, to which there is no end, and though the backdrop may change, the Great Story is always unfolding and by His grace I get a chance to be a part of it.
For me the story is currently unfolding in Pullman, Washington, where I get the joy of being a student-staff member at Resonate Church, a place God has graciously used to draw me closer to Him. I came to WSU having a relationship with Jesus and an eagerness to grow in love with Him, during a time I knew would be one of the most influential in my life. Over the past 3 years, He has brought me some of the sweetest friends, who have become family, and shown me more of His vision for His church, who are called to be the hands and feet of His mission.
I feel incredibly honored to share His love with students at WSU and invite them to draw near to a God who loves them, is for them, and has a plan for their years at college, and for the rest of their lives. I couldn’t ask for a better story to share.
