I spent the first 18 years of my life in Kennewick, Washington. I went to church every week until I was 13 years old, and it was there that Jesus first impacted my life. It was there that I first learned bible stories and what Jesus accomplished. When my family stopped going to church, I looked for validation from other people. Much of my middle school and early high school was spent trying to be the most popular kid in school.
When I was 16, an old friend invited me to his small group over Facebook. I turned him down several times, but he was persistent for a few weeks until I agreed to go. As soon as I arrived I could tell there was something different about everyone there. We talked about how Jesus can change lives by the forgiveness His death and resurrection offers us. We talked about how everyone is sinful and in need of Jesus. It was then that I knew what to do with the knowledge I'd gained as a child. I gave my life over to Christ, and it has been a whirlwind ever since.
Coming to college at WSU, I got involved with Resonate early on. I've been able to lead Villages during my time at WSU and spend a couple summers doing mission work in Thailand, falling more in love with Jesus every day. Through all the craziness of life, Christ is constant. Christ is hope. Christ is love.
