Jesus counted his life as nothing so that many could have access to true life in God. His joy in knowing that his one death would bring millions of hearts to life made the cost worth it. He knew that his death would multiply into eternal life.
Even on the cross he made the most of his death by telling the criminals next to him that he is the only way to have access to the Father. He made disciples even in the midst of his death. Jesus’ joy shows us that multiplication is not a job to get done, it is the evidence of a life lived in right relation with the Father. He can’t help but multiply and make disciples.
Read Luke 23:1-43. Ask where Jesus is inviting you to multiply your life so that others can find joy in a relationship with their heavenly Father. Just as he gave his life away for us, let us give our life away for others. Because he laid down his life, we have our life.
Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. Hebrews 12:3
