I am originally from Puyallup, Washington. I grew up with a twin brother. We had an older brother who was 12 years older than we were, so by the time I was 6 he had already moved out. My twin, Josh, and I were very close. We did just about everything together. My parents ended up taking ownership of a small electrical contracting company. My brother and I would spend a lot of time hanging out with my Dad’s workers. We were really blessed growing up to go to church, live in a nice house, and be involved in our communities.

The exact date and time of surrendering my life to Christ evades me. From a very young age, I wanted to believe that Jesus had died for me. This was probably because I grew up in the church. I went to AWANAs, Sports Camps, played in the youth band, and went to church camps. It wasn’t until the summer before I went to college that I desired Jesus apart from anyone or anything. I just remember feeling so empty even though I had money, was about to go to college, and seemed to have a pretty stable future.

Weeks  later in college God would use a guy named Juan Cuevas to articulate what I had been feeling. He pressed into me and explained that joy and obedience to Christ were actually the same thing. That the more obedient I was the more joy I would have because it would bring me into a deeper relationship with God. For the first time in my life, I understood completely what it meant to have a relationship with Jesus and not only be forgiven of all my sins but also experience heaven coming to earth through a relationship with Jesus.

I wanted to work for Resonate because I had seen the impact of what church planting can do on college campuses. The book of Acts, in the Bible, seemed to come to life before my very eyes. People planting churches wasn’t just some distant story that happened 2,000 years ago. It was as alive as ever and I wanted to be a part of something bigger than what I could do on my own. I also had been affected by Resonate’s efforts on college campuses. If it were not so, I could potentially be in a very dark place, and so I wanted to give back to their mission and ultimately God’s will.

My specific vision for Resonate Church is to do everything I can to increase the efficiency and organization of our church. This way our missionaries, site pastors, and directors don’t have to worry about the administration of our church. My specific job title is Executive Administrative Assistant. I work with our Executive Director to accomplish his goals and objectives.
