By the time I was 10 years old I had lived in 4 different states, lived in 6 homes, and attended 7 different schools. Life has always been an adventure of change and challenge, but there was always one constant in my life - Jesus.
My mother is a missionary kid from Zimbabwe and the name and love of Jesus was present in our home. I’ve always considered myself a Christian since a bedside prayer with her at 4 years old. God was everywhere - home, church, Sunday school, soccer games, but it didn’t take long before Jesus was just what I did on Sundays with my family. I didn’t know who He was or what a relationship with Him really meant.
In 2013, I started pursuing a degree at the University of Idaho hoping to leave as soon as possible to travel the world. Week one at college and Jesus wrecked my world when I was invited to Resonate Church. People at Resonate were different. I noticed the way they lived their daily lives with such surrender to Christ. Their love for the Gospel overflowed to other people and I was welcomed into a community that I’ve only seen elsewhere in Acts.
The next 4 years at the University of Idaho were filled with growth, trial, temptation, laughter, love, and humility. I saw Jesus do the impossible in the lives of my friends, other college students and Resonate. He opened my eyes to His love for college students and how much He desires for us to understand that living for Jesus is way better than any of us could ever do ourselves!
After graduating with a degree in International Studies and French, I’ve come on staff full-time with a desire to serve the church in any way needed. I can’t wait to see how God further transforms the lives of college students in the Northwest and the world through Resonate!
