My name is Kyle Worsham, and I am a sinner. This statement is truth. It is fact. I was born into this world woven in iniquity. Like a swimmer stuck to the floor of a massive ocean, I am enveloped, overwhelmed, and drowning in sin. But thanks be to God that there is a but.

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: while were still sinners, Christ  died for us.” Romans 5:8

WHAT!? What did I do to deserve such an incredible gift. The answer is NOTHING. This is what my mind can not comprehend. I cannot understand that:

“God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become  the righteousness of God.” 2 Corinthians 5:21

I can’t even begin to come up with an equivalent to show the incredible compassion that God has for me. The unbelievable grace being poured out for me. That like the prodigal son, he would run to me and bring me back into His kingdom when I have been a terrorist to His glory.

And here is the most colossal truth to me: His grace is all I need. It is sufficient. Look at what Paul wrote in his letter to the church in Ephesus:

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this is not from  yourselves; it is the gift of God.”

All that is required for me to be brought into God’s kingdom is to have faith in Jesus Christ, to believe that He is the way, the truth, the life and the resurrection.

I am blown away that God made a way for me. That, when there was nothing I could do to overcome my sin, He provided a way that has nothing to do with my works, but has everything to do with God Himself, in Christ. In His cross there is redemption. Because His sacrifice was enough to trample death and sin forever, there is no need for another offering. And all this leads me to proclaim is, “HOW GREAT IS OUR GOD!”
