Our Story
Resonate Missoula began taking shape in early 2018 when a group of six friends took a leap of faith and moved to Missoula a year before the rest of the church planting team was scheduled to arrive. They spent a year meeting students, building relationships, and laying the groundwork for the incoming team. In the summer of 2019, twenty more team members moved to Missoula to create the Missoula "Core Team". Over the past five years, God has faithfully grown Resonate Missoula and expanded our impact on the campus and in the city. Our family of students, young professionals, families, and staff feel called to lay down our lives for the people of Missoula. We take responsibility for each other, treat each other like family, take risks for the gospel, put mission first, and embrace sacrifice.
The people of Missoula are open to spirituality but often hostile to Christianity. Missoula is a popular city for those who love the outdoors but has a large homeless population with a dark history of addiction. The University of Montana (UM), while having a beautiful campus and historical legacy, is also known for high rates of sexual assault, depression, and alcoholism. UM is a prominent state University, drawing students from all across the world. This means that if healing and renewal come to UM, it could change Missoula and the cities that students go back to. We are praying for the transformational love of Jesus to be known at the University of Montana and the city of Missoula!
