Exodus 40
Exodus 40
One of the main themes we see throughout the book of Exodus is God’s attention to detail. He lays out intricate explanations of how His people must eat, dress, worship and enter into His presence. Each sacrifice must be done a certain way, each ritual completed to God’s specific design. Even the way Moses sets up the Tabernacle in today’s chapter there are important details that must be accounted for.
Think of how a baby is formed in its mother’s womb. From conception to full term, each day there are little pieces growing and forming in such a miraculous and complicated way. Our God, who knows everything about all of creation, intentionally formed us in our mothers womb and sets the world in motion to display His glory.
When Moses sets up the tabernacle, he doesn’t just do it all himself. He delegates the tasks and allows God’s people to participate. God wants us to join Him in His work. He has given us gifts, talents, resources and relationships in order to make His glory known on Earth. Our obedience isn’t just an obligation, but a joyful submission to the One who knows everything. God wants to use you, is your yes on the table?
As you process today’s passage, spend some time asking God how He wants you to walk in obedience.
