I graduated high school and arrived at the University of Idaho to study civil engineering in 2016. Coming into college I had a plan for what I wanted to do with my life, where I wanted to live, what type of job I wanted to do; however, what I did not expect was all the experiences while in college that went way beyond the things I learned in a classroom. Partway into my freshman year, I started attending Resonate Church. With Resonate I was able to be a part of a community that transformed my understanding of what it looked like to live out my faith. I joined a small group where I was challenged to live a life more like Christ. I began to see the call upon my life as a follower of Jesus to make disciples. In Matthew 28:19-20, Jesus calls his followers to make disciples and promises to be with them as they do. As graduation approached I was spending a lot of time in thought and prayer about where I wanted to go after graduation. There came a moment that I decided to stop asking God to work His mission into my plans, but instead look for where He was already at work.
When I looked, I saw that the college campus is in need of the church and college students need a community around them to discover who they are and be supported as they walk through some of the most formative years of their lives. At this moment it became clear that the job of being a civil engineer was not what God had gifted me with, but instead, I have been gifted with the ability to see details, create systems, and organize people. Seeing this led me to make the decision to go on staff with Resonate. In my role, I get to keep track of the details, create and help lead operational systems and integrate ideas & vision to maximize impact on the college campus. My role takes on responsibilities that will remove logistical and administrative roadblocks like insurance, vehicle & facility management, IT support, and more, allowing ministry to remain the primary focus of the church.
My financial partners in my ministry make it possible for me to do this important work full time. I truly believe that college students are the most reachable, teachable, and sendable mission field on the planet. Partner with me and Resonate as we seek to resource a church planting movement that provides life-changing community and world-changing purpose in Jesus.
