My story starts growing up in a household that didn’t know who Jesus was. I was lost, and aimlessly living a life with no purpose. When I decided that I wanted to go to school at WSU, it was because I wanted to get a "real college experience". Which meant I wanted to party, make new friends, but I also wanted chase after what I was passionate about, which was helping people. What I wasn’t aware of, is that God had been writing a story in my life since the beginning, and that He had plans for me to follow Jesus in college. This would transform my passion for wanting to help people, into a deep desire to guide other people to the feet of Jesus.
My first two years of college were full of trying to fill a Jesus-sized hole in my heart with partying and a need to be accepted by others. By God’s grace, at the end of my sophomore year, I was introduced to the person of Jesus. The sacrifice that was made on my behalf, and the unmeasurable love that He had for me was something that I had never heard of before. I decided on March 16th, 2016, that I was done living the life I was living, and decided to follow Jesus! Since that day, my life has been marked by obedience, and saying yes to things that seem crazy. I’ve learned that God can do more through me than I could ever imagine. His power is made perfect in my weakness, and I just need to keep saying yes, which has lead me to being on staff with Resonate Church.
I decided to work for Resonate Church because I want to dedicate my life to bring the Kingdom of Heaven to places on earth that look like hell. I believe that by guiding college students to Jesus, showing them how to faithfully live a life following Him, and then sending them out into the world is the way to do that. As an on-campus multiplier I will be equipping leaders to bring pieces of heaven to their places of influence, and then teaching them how to help others to do the same.
My hope for Resonate is that we would remember that we are weak people in the hands of a powerful God. I pray that daily our love for Jesus would grow deeper, and our trust would grow wider, so that we would say yes to the plans that He has set before us!
