Psalm 111

Psalm 111 is all about praising God. Praise is defined by expressing adoration to someone. There is no one who deserves our praise more than the creator, sustainer, and savior of the universe. We praise Him for His wondrous works, for His gracious and generous gifts, and for His character and who He created us to be. We were created to praise HIm.

I want us to focus on God and His worthiness of our praise. I encourage you to read Psalm 111 again and read it out loud this time. Take in every word and speak it to our Father, not just to the quiet. Imagine He is sitting before you and you get to praise Him for all that He does and all that He is.

If you don’t normally write out your prayers, I encourage you to do that also. Write out all that you can think of to praise Him. Think of His character, the ways in which He’s blessed you, and the ways that He has or is moving around you. Tear out that piece of paper and place it somewhere where you will see it every day and read over it daily. Continue to praise God for these things and imagine He is walking alongside you as you head to class. Imagine He is in the passenger seat while you drive to work. Imagine He is sitting beside you on the couch as you praise Him deep into the night.

Continue to read over your prayer of praises going into the Holiday season. Add to it when you think of more ways to praise Him. Study His character and great works and delight in Him.
