WHY 6 WEEKS?

We believe 6 weeks is the perfect length of time for a summer project. Adjusting to ministry rhythms in a Global city takes time! We want students to feel effective and equipped in what they are doing and that comes from consistency throughout the course of several weeks. We also highly value quality training, team bonding and time to debrief before re-integrating into your site and so we have built this into our schedule.

WHAT IF MY STUDENT HAS FUNDS IN EXCESS?

In the event that your student raises funds in excess, they can be reimbursed for the cost of travel (flight, gas, hotel), pending the submission of receipts and the balance remaining in the account. Any funds in excess beyond reimbursing travel will go toward making the project better for students, as supporters are ultimately giving to the Resonate Global project through giving to your student’s specific account.

WHAT IS MY STUDENT RESPONSIBLE FOR IF THEY DROP AFTER THE DESIGNATED DROP DATE?

If your student drops after the designated drop date, they are responsible for paying for their housing contract by the end date of the project, as that space has been paid/reserved for them in advance. Funds beyond the housing contract can be refunded to supporters by emailing finance@resonate.net.

CAN MY STUDENT STILL BE PART OF OUR WEEK-LONG FAMILY VACATION?

Because the project is only 6 weeks and so much happens in a short time, we do not allow students who are participating in Resonate Global to leave for a week. However, if your student is in a wedding (bridesmaid/groomsman), has a sibling's graduation, or some other extenuating circumstance they are able to leave for one weekend trip pending the approval of the project directors. We have found that if a student is continually out of town on weekends, they miss out on the full impact of their Global summer experience.

Additionally, if a family emergency arises, we are more than willing to work with a student for them to be able to be present for those situations.
