Day 6
John 16:25-33, Hebrews 4:14-16
The world is brutal. People are hard. For introverts, small talk is hard. Event planning takes a lot of work. The world is just hard. Jesus knew that. He experienced challenging moments. We do not have a God who cannot sympathize with us. We have a God who wrapped himself in the flesh, endured the brokenness and hardships of this world, then overcame the world.
Ministry feels busy, chaotic, and tiring right now. We may be looking back at the slow summer days or maybe the busy days on the beaches of San Diego, yet, we have a hope - Jesus. We cling to that hope as we endure the rejection, the ghosting, and constant invites to all parties, BBQs, and volleyball games. We don’t let tribulations stop us, but we remember that Jesus has overcome them.
Remember the strength of your God today. He empowers you to keep going and put your hope in him. This work is not about your energy levels, charisma, or events. Those are tools to spread the hope we have in Christ.
